Biogas production and greenhouse gas mitigation using fish waste from Bragança/Brazil
نویسندگان
چکیده
The potential of biogas production using fish waste (FW) and its effect on greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction energy were evaluated this research. FW was co-digested with anaerobic sewage sludge (SS). collected in the city Bragan?a, northern Brazil, which industry is main activity a approximately 9,000 kg?day-1. experimental part included five SS/FW ratios, two experiments hydrogen added. carried out for 30 days cumulative methane yields analyzed. GHG estimated amount not discarded Bragan?a open dump; electricity generation calculated yield. Besides, kinetic models performed. results presented 1,619 tons CO2e an 372 to 956 MWh?year-1. analysis variance indicated that highly dependent ratios ranged from 76 138 mL?gvs-1. Finally, research showed benefit generate while reducing emissions where there no project.

Greenhouse Gas Mitigation
Overview of Issue In the past two years research has pointed towards the possibility of using urban planning as a tool to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in urban areas. For many focused on the issue of climate change, there is a consensus that atmospheric carbon dioxide should be contained at no more than twice the maximum level of atmospheric carbon dioxide that existed during the pre-industr...
متن کاملProduction of Biogas by Using Food Waste
The current work focuses on the generating bio-gas from food waste produced by Mahendra Engineering College Canteen using anaerobic digestion process. Attempts have been made to optimize various parameters in order to determine the most favorable recipe for maximum biogas production from the digested food waste. The biogas yields have been determined using batch anaerobic thermophilic digestion...
متن کاملProduction of Biogas from Poultry Waste
It is inevitable that with large volume and high density poultry productions, there will be large quantities of poultry waste produced in Kathmandu and throughout Nepal. Poultry waste produced as the daily feeding of chicken both from broilers and layers in the country is largely used as organic manure for agricultural purposes. The poultry industry is growing day by day concentrated within the...
متن کاملGreenhouse gas mitigation in agriculture.
Agricultural lands occupy 37% of the earth's land surface. Agriculture accounts for 52 and 84% of global anthropogenic methane and nitrous oxide emissions. Agricultural soils may also act as a sink or source for CO2, but the net flux is small. Many agricultural practices can potentially mitigate greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, the most prominent of which are improved cropland and grazing land m...
